Taking Relationships Seriously

We’re calling this year’s Venus Retrograde in Capricorn “Taking Relationships Seriously.” That’s because we are entering a period of soul-searching, ultimately seeking a deeper sense of maturity in all the important relationships in our lives. Venus in her retrograde period urges us to slow down and introspect within our important partnerships (both business and personal). Capricorn faces us with difficult questions regarding these matters, most importantly: Are my partner and I behaving in full integrity in this relationship? This can be a time to consider our sense of responsibility within a partnership, and to ask ourselves how our personal fulfillment is affecting our relationships. As Venus Retrograde is a time of cleaning up rather than pushing forward, this may be a time for a deep clean with regards to good old-fashioned values.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T

When Venus goes retrograde in Capricorn, it’s time for a little R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Relationship goddess Venus begins her backwards journey on December 19th. This retrograde reminds us that relationships require our attention and retrospection to strengthen and grow. Venus’ placement in Capricorn motivates you to evaluate all your relationships in the context of personal boundaries, goals, career and public reputation. For example, do your relationships align with and support your ambitions? Are they characterized by mutual respect? If not, it’s the ideal time for ‘relationship clean-up’— strategize and act on strengthening your supportive partnerships. You might even want to ‘break up’ with those who aren’t capable of meeting the bar. This six-week retrograde is important and complex. Romantic Hesitancy and Commitment Rapture

But wait, what’s Juno doing? When Venus and Juno meet this month in the sign of Capricorn, we are faced with a contradiction: Juno is direct and at the peak of her powers, urging us to move ahead and deepen our commitment to our serious partnerships of all kinds, while Venus is simultaneously retrograde, causing us to hold back, question, and reassess in the realm of relationship. Our contemplation and gung-ho feelings will all be filtered through the Saturnian influence of Capricorn, who fixes her discerning eye upon how her partnerships serve her social standing. This is good a time for deepening commitment, but not for starting something new. Perhaps it is a chance to reinitiate an old relationship, or a commitment that was put on hold. Watch the video to learn more about how to navigate this mixed messaging in the realm of relationship.
