March’s New Moon is also an emotionally powerful lunar eclipse and it’s in the watery sign of Pisces. This is a Moon with many currents and many flavors, like a soup that’s not quite ready yet. A New Moon is a great time for beginnings but beginnings under this Moon are muddy indeed. Some of the things you begin this month may need time to cook or integrate or blend fully before they are ready for action. Instead of gobbling the soup before it’s ready, allow all the flavors to blend in the pot first—then taste it.

Does It Affect You Personally?
If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 15-25
June 15-26
September 17-27
December 16-26
Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable. A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event). You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after). The following script is just one possible way it could go.
You hear a knock at the door. You answer it. There stands Ceres in Capricorn, holding a giant cauldron. She brushes by you and into the kitchen, where she puts the cauldron on your stove. She is wearing a plain garment of a soft gray, and her every movement is pure efficiency. The cauldron is enormous and it covers three burners. She turns on the flame under it and uses a pitcher to add water from the sink. Then she begins pulling ingredients from the air, muttering to herself.
Ceres: Here’s some interesting karma. . . (she waves a grayish substance into the cauldron) . . . and what about this experience? (she adds a yellow streaked with green) And here’s a twist. . . (a bluish-purple liquid pours into the cauldron from the air above it, causing bubbles and steam to rise). . . and a pinch of this! (the pinch is bright red and sparkly). You approach the cauldron, sniffing appreciatively.
You: Hey, this smells familiar! Is this the project I’m trying to create at work?
Ceres: Sure is! But it’s not ready yet. We have to let it cook awhile.
The front door bangs open and in runs Pallas Athena in Sagittarius, dressed in a bright orange jogging suit. She blows into the kitchen abruptly.
Pallas Athena: Hey guys, what’s cooking?
You: It appears to be a project I’m trying to get going at work.
Pallas Athena grabs the spoon.
Ceres, stopping her: Uh-uh-uh! Nope. Not ready yet.
Athena looks annoyed but holds back.
Athena: I’ve got a great sales plan for this project. I can sell it to your boss and your boss’ boss and your coworkers, and then I can sell it to the rest of the world too.
You: That sounds great!
Ceres: But not yet.
You: Maybe we can talk about it in the living room.
Ceres: Nope. We don’t know what it’s going to turn into. A leak would drain it of its power and change the recipe. Don’t even think about that sales stuff yet.
Athena looks irritated, but she pulls up a stool and sits on her hands.
Athena: Hey, what about this?
She pulls a thread of orange energy out of the air and offers it to Ceres who views it speculatively.
Ceres: That could work. Toss it in.
Athena does so while Ceres stirs. Together, the three of you watch the colors swirl and blend inside the cauldron, while steam brings a strange and intriguing mix of scents to your noses.
Ceres: Now off you go. Both of you. And no side conversations till it’s done. I mean it!
She shoves you out of the kitchen and Athena disappears in an orange cloud.
Three mornings later, you shuffle into the kitchen rubbing your eyes. Ceres is still there, stirring and humming to herself as the sun comes up and the birds begin to sing. She smiles at you and shakes her head.
Ceres: Not ready yet.
You fumble your way to the shower. Another few days later you wander into the kitchen again and there she is, stirring away. She dips the spoon into the cauldron and offers you a taste.
You: Wow, that’s fantastic! It really is!
Ceres shakes her head, amused.
Ceres: You really didn’t believe me, you silly human. Sometimes, you have to leave things in the hands of a deity. And you have to just walk away, trusting that the thing will sort itself out.
You: I will never forget it again.
Athena pops her head into the room for a moment and calls out: Neither will I!
Ceres: Oh yes you will, the very next time you’re in a fire sign again!
