March’s Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse, with Shadow Agents Mars and Mercury in attendance. Mercury aligns with the Sun in Aries, demanding logic and swift thought. Mars cheers from the sidelines in support. But the Moon in Libra wants balance instead of impulsivity. And all the while, the thoughts are flying thick and fast. What to do? Make a mental net to capture all the ideas that may come along this swift, intuitive stream. Do you have a good idea-capturing system? Now might be the time to begin.

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 18 to 28
June 19 to 29
September 21 to October 1
December 19 to 29

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable. A lunar eclipse is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event (unlike a solar eclipse, which is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event).

This lunar eclipse falls at the North Node, making this an initiating eclipse, one which is capable of sparking events that can lead to a new beginning. Be courageous and try new things under this eclipse. You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after). The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You are resting at home, when the doorbell rings. Not expecting any company, you walk to the door and curiously open it a crack. The Sun in Aries, and his small, feisty pal Mercury in Aries, come bursting through the door. “We REFUSE to compromise!” they both scream in unison. Before you have a chance to open to your mouth and ask questions, both planets begin ranting. You suddenly realize that once you’ve let unbridled, Aries energy into your house, there is no way to simply ask it to leave…

“I just moved in with my girlfriend, the Moon in Libra,” whines the blowhard Sun in Aries. “And now, my life has been totally hijacked by this relationship! When I was living on my own, I could do whatever I want! If I didn’t feel like washing the dishes, guess what? They wouldn’t get washed ‘till I felt like it! Also, I could come and go every time I pleased, without ever having to check in with anybody!” The Sun was puffed up with anger. His face became redder and redder as he continued his petulant tirade.

“Ever since my girlfriend moved in, everything I do becomes a long discussion. If I want to decorate, I have to clear it with her first. If I want to invite my buddies over, I have to ask her if it works for her too. I’m sick of this! I want to be a bachelor again!”

The Sun and Mercury storm into your living room and plop down on your couch. They put their feet up on your coffee table. You hesitantly offer some advice, “Well relationships can be tough, because they require lots of communication…” but then you get interrupted by brash Mercury in Aries.

“Who is better at communicating than me?” he exclaims as he clearly hasn’t heard anything you have just said. All of a sudden, a text pings on your phone. It’s from the Moon in Libra: “Excuse me, but would it be all right if I stopped by? I’m having problems with my boyfriend, the Sun, and I’m at my wit’s end about what to do with him. I would appreciate some advice about it.”

As the Sun and Mercury whine on about how lame it is to have to talk about everything, they don’t even notice you texting the Moon back. You write: “Of course you are welcome to come over. But the Sun has already beat you here!”

Half an hour passes, and the Sun and Mercury have not stopped talking about how much the Sun is ready to move out from his home with the Moon. In fact, neither of them has even asked you one question about how you are doing. You’ve already begun to sense where the root of the problem in communication may lie…

The doorbell rings and you get up to answer it. As you expected, the Moon in Libra is at the door. She is standing there politely, and has even brought over some flowers in a gesture of consideration. Behind her is Mars in Sagittarius, one of the Sun’s best friends. As they enter the living room, the Sun and Mercury jump up from the couch. “Hey, Mars buddy!” the Sun exclaims. “Did my girlfriend drag you over here? Oh, hey babe….” the Sun says as he glances over at Moon.

Mars in Sagittarius has often played the mediator between the couple, diffusing tensions and suggesting actions that can help things move forward when they’re stuck. The Aries Sun loves his bluntness, and the Libra Moon enjoys his travel stories. They’re both happy to see him, sensing an end to the tension between them.

“Guys, it’s time you two sit down and discuss you problems,” Mars says, as the Sun rolls his eyes. “Discuss?! That’s all we ever do! I guess I have no patience for living with someone else. I’m not much of a compromiser.”

“Oh, shut up and grow up, Sun!” replies Mars in his typical shoot-from-the-hip style. “You’ve been hanging around with that Peter Pan Mercury in Aries too much. He may never want to grow up, but you’d better, if you expect to have the lovely and talented Moon in Libra in your life.” It’s just the kind of directness that the Sun in Aries needs to make him actually listen. “I could never have said that to him,” whispers the Moon in your ear.

“There’s no reason to be afraid of having your independence taken,” says Mars. “The Moon is in an Air sign. She’s perfectly capable of giving you space when you need it. But now that you and she are living together, naturally she expects you to tell her about things ahead of time, because they affect her too.”

For the first time you can ever remember, the Sun is at a loss for words. Even Mercury in Aries can’t argue with that kind of logic.

Mars in Sagittarius continues, “Sun in Aries, you don’t want to be single. You’ve been on your own for most of your life. This is merely a new experience—and there’s no one better than you at trying new things. Maybe underneath all of your complaints, you are just really afraid of something…maybe it’s becoming more mature, maybe it’s losing your independence…but those fears are all ungrounded. You see, Libra Moon isn’t your adversary, she’s your teammate. And with her, your life is so much better. You live in a beautiful home with someone who cares about what you’re up to. What could be better than that?”

The Moon in Libra relaxes noticeably because Mars has cut straight to the point. And the Sun relaxes too. “Thanks, my brother,” he says. “I needed that.” Mercury looks on in amazement that Mars has stated both positions and brought the two into alignment by being soft on the Moon and tough on the Sun. It looks like magic to him. He sidles up to Mars, whispering, “Can you teach me how you did that?” Mars signs him up for a teleseminar on the spot.

The Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra look adoringly into each other’s eyes, then link arms and happily stroll out of your home towards their own, trailing a cloud of little pink hearts.

March’s New Moon in Pisces is also an eclipse and oh boy is this a complex one! Shadow Agents in attendance include Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Chiron, Ceres and Juno. The mood is one of new beginnings that emerge from muddy origins. The healing themes present in the Jupiter/Chiron opposition are also a part of this eclipse. Imagine yourself pulled in two directions, toward both chaos and order. Now imagine that there are many more factors to consider than you can even cope with. The result: total overwhelm. The solution? Slow down, relax, find your center and re-approach when you are ready.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: March 8, 2016
Time of eclipse: 5:54 PM Pacific Time
Type: total (strong in intensity)
Visible in: eastern Asia, southern China, Indonesia, northern Australia, Korea, Japan, eastern tip of Russia and western Alaska.
At: 18º Pisces
Nodal Orientation: the eclipsed Sun conjunct South Node creates a Releasing (not Initiating) nodal orientation
Shadow Agents:  Jupiter in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn in Sagittarius, Juno in Scorpio, Chiron in Pisces, Ceres in Pisces

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 3 to 13
June 3 to 13
September 5 to 15
December 5 to 15

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event).  This solar eclipse falls at the South Node, making this a releasing eclipse, one which is designed to force you to let go of old things you may be attached to, but don’t really need anymore.  Let go of attachment and this eclipse will go more smoothly.  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door. You answer it. There stands a veritable crowd of planetary archetypes, pushing and shoving to get in your door.
You: Oh no, you don’t! There are too many of you. Please go away.
You shut the door. Through the door-window you see the Moon cast an arc of sparkly energy in the air. The door dissolves.
Moon: When I’m in Pisces, I specialize in dissolving things. Especially boundaries.
The Moon enters the living room and stands there for a moment silently, with her eyes closed. You notice that a light mist, or possibly a smoke arises from her feet and her hands and fills the room with a foggy glow.
Moon: Ok, everybody, come on in.
You: I didn’t ask for this!
One by one, the planets troop across your threshold: Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Juno, Chiron and Ceres. They are followed by the Sun, who is quite dark and weak, and who fumbles for a chair. The Moon stands over him, making more sparkles in the air.
Sun: I keep trying to establish my center, but I’m so confused.
Jupiter: You remind me of Superman with kryptonite.
Sun: Yes, it feels like that. I feel so weak and unclear.
Jupiter: Hey everybody, what can we do to help the Sun get his center back?Saturn: You would ask that. You’re at the North Node. You want the Sun to take the high road. But how can he do that, when he’s at the South Node? I’m critical of your method.
Juno: Maybe I can help. The Moon is eclipsing the Sun in the House of Partnership. I am an archetype of Partnership too. Perhaps the answer lies in balance, mirroring and consulting with others.
Saturn: (warningly) It’s possible to do that too much!
Pluto: I have a helpful thought to offer too. Vulnerability and a willingness to share one’s innermost thoughts can bring the Sun all the way through the fog and out the other side. Because, as I like to say, the only way out is through.
Chiron: I agree. Healing is what’s needed, and that takes time and openness. You have to go deeper before you can get through the fog and come out the other side.
Ceres: I think it’s time to check in with bodily wisdom. Sometimes your body knows things you are unaware of. (to the Sun) What is your body telling you now?
The Sun just moans in confusion, thrashing about a little.
Jupiter: All those things are true, but if being near the North Node in Virgo has taught me anything, it’s this: Languishing in a state of confusion and mud can only take you backwards. Onwards, then, into boundaries, common sense and clarity!
Chiron: But don’t leave compassion behind.
Jupiter: True enough. But compassion is no excuse for boundarilessness.
Sun: You’re all speaking in abstracts. I’m more confused than ever.
Moon: Let’s go watch a sad movie together.
Sun: That actually sounds like a good idea. A really sad movie, that will make me cry.
Moon: Then maybe you’ll know what you feel.
Sun: And maybe then I’ll find my center again.
The Moon turns on Netflix and finds some choices. Ceres makes the popcorn, and the Pisces bunch (Sun, Moon, Ceres, Chiron) settle on the sofa to watch. Pluto and Juno join them.
Saturn: Ridiculous!
Jupiter: Idiotic!
Jupiter and Saturn sit in separate corners, reading their phones.
The movie-viewers happily snuggle together and start the movie. Soon tears are streaming down all their faces. After an hour and a half, and a whole box of tissues, they are all hugging.
Moon: That was so sad!
Sun: But also life-affirming—
Ceres: I really felt it in my heart and gut—
Pluto: I let myself be vulnerable to it—
Juno: I was able to feel the main character’s pain—
Chiron: And the pain mixed with my own pain—
Moon: And then when I cried, it all was released together!
Jupiter and Saturn shrug at each other as the still tearful but now happy group gets up and leaves the house in a bunch, punctuated by the occasional hug, back-slap or handing over of another tissue. Saturn and Jupiter follow them.
Jupiter: There’s no accounting for tastes!
Saturn: None at all.

September’s Full Moon is a total Lunar Eclipse featuring a battle between Vesta in Aries and Juno in Libra. With a retrograde Mercury joining Juno and the Sun in Libra, will infidelities come out?  This one could be messy and you’ll have to talk it through. If you want more freedom and self-determination in the relationship, say so honestly and gently. If you want to take the partnership to the next level, say that too. The things you say, as well as how you say them, really matter here.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: September 27, 2015
Time of eclipse: 7:50 PM Pacific Time
Type: total (strong in intensity)
Visible in: North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, western Asia and Antarctica.
At: 4º Aries
Shadow Agents:  Mercury Retrograde in Libra, Juno in Libra, Vesta in Aries

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 20 to 30
June 21 to July 1
September 22 to October 3
December 21 to 31

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A lunar eclipse is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event (unlike a solar eclipse, which is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock on the door. You answer it. Juno enters, dressed in the height of fashion, accompanied by the equally well-dressed Sun in Libra, a man with an elegant profile. They sweep into your living room with a flourish. They look quite polished, and both are exceedingly gracious.
Juno: (to the Sun) Is he dawdling again? Where-oh-where is that Mercury?
Sun: He is retrograde, you know.
Mercury in Libra comes in behind them, looking frazzled but with a warm smile. You invite your pleasant guests into your living room to have a seat, and Juno pulls several pairs of knitting needles from a seemingly bottomless bag and hands them to everyone in the room. As you all start knitting together and conversing in the most civilized manner, a loud rapping is heard from the back door of the house.
Juno: (startled) What on Earth?
You excuse yourself and run toward the kitchen where the back door is. The Moon in Aries is outside and is impatiently banging his fists on the door, windows and anything else he can find that will make a loud noise. Vesta is with him. You hear their muffled voices through the door as you enter the kitchen.
Vesta: (to the Moon) Try knocking louder so they can hear you. Have you tried calling them all on their cell phones?”
When you open the door, the Moon falls inside, immediately followed by Vesta, who is wearing a saucy red dress and 1940’s style bright red lipstick.
Vesta: (straightening her overly-short skirt) Excuse us!
Moon: (in exasperation) We must have been waiting outside FOREVER!”
You: (impatiently) It’s been about ONE minute and you’ve made me leave a peaceful knitting circle for WHAT exactly?
Moon: Why, we’re here to cook, of course!
Vesta: (in a throaty voice) You know, heat things up. . . (she turns up the stove full-blast)
Moon: Get a bun in the oven. . . (he pulls out the baking dishes and a mixing bowl)
Vesta: Makin some bacon!  (she digs into the refrigerator)
Moon: Here to spoon!  (he opens the silverware drawer)
Vesta: Tying you up in apron strings! (she approaches the Moon, who looks pleased at the idea)
You: Oh please, must you? Really? I didn’t invite you!
Moon: Bad luck for you then, because we’re IMMORTAL DEITIES!
Vesta: And if you can’t stand the heat. . .
Vesta and Moon together:  . . .get out of the kitchen!
They dissolve into giggles together and end up smooching on the kitchen island. Irritated, you return to the front of the house, where things are a little tense. You seat yourself quietly and take up your needles, while the others glance at you amid the rising clamor coming from the kitchen.
Juno: What on earth is going on back there?
You: (embarrassedly) Oh, nothing really.
There’s a loud bang in the kitchen which can only mean that the pressure cooker has been knocked off the kitchen island. You sigh and continue knitting. Suddenly there’s a buzz from your phone. A text has arrived. Furtively, you read it. It’s from the North Node, who says, “Excuse me. I don’t mean to interrupt, but I heard from my friends in your living room that you seem a bit frazzled by having to harmonize all of your guests. If there is any way I can help you with your party, I can come over immediately.” Heaving a sigh of relief, you text back a grateful, “Yes, please.” Soon there’s a polite knock at the door. You answer it and the North Node is there, wearing an ambassador’s outfit, ready to negotiate peace. She enters your home, shakes your hand politely, and elegantly strolls down the hallway into the kitchen where the Moon and Vesta have been cooking furiously.
North Node: Would you two like to join us in the living room?”
Vesta: That sounds really boring.
Moon: Yeah, I’m really not in the mood.
The North Node grabs them by the collars and they trudge down the hall together.
Juno: (spotting Vesta) I refuse to be in the same room with THAT WOMAN!!
Vesta: How about if I agree to be Second Wife?
Juno snorts.
Vesta: In some cultures, it’s a perfectly normal scenario.
Juno: This is America, and it’s the 21st century!
Vesta: (deflated, sits down) Why do I always have to hide in the shadows, while SHE (pointing at Juno) gets the valid social position as wife? I am so much more fun than she is! Is it never going to be my turn? (She moans.)
The North Node and Mercury have been whispering in the corner. Mercury pipes up.
Mercury: I’ve been thinking about relationships. . .
Moon: Thinking? What’s that?
Mercury: The answer actually lies in the Gemini Man section of Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs. It’s in the final sentences of that section. (He goes to the bookshelf and gets a copy of the book.) It reads, “the Gemini Man needs two loves. Not necessarily two women. That’s a riddle. If you truly understand him, you’ll know the answer to it.”
Moon: Oh I get it! He needs someone with Borderline Personality Disorder!
Juno: Would somebody please cover his mouth with duct tape?  (the Moon looks pleased at the idea)
Mercury: Look everybody, the battle between the Wife/Husband (bows to Juno) and the Other Woman/Man (winks at Vesta) has been going on for centuries. Millenia. You’re just going to have to agree to disagree. AND we’ll have to separate you two.
Vesta: I call dibs on the bedroom!
Juno: I’m perfectly happy here in the parlor. (The Sun whispers in her ear) I mean the (Juno uses air quotes) ‘living room.’ Does it really matter what century and continent it is?Vesta grabs a bottle of wine, then another, then takes the Moon’s hand. Together they loudly sneak off to the bedroom, where more ruckus ensues while Juno and the Sun pretend not to hear. The North Node pats you on the back, while Mercury beams from across the room. Another cosmic problem solved!

This is a jarring eclipse—its strongest planetary connection is a quincunx to Uranus in Aries. It’s not as if a Moon in Virgo could relax anyway (such a worrywart!), but adding in the agitation and anxiety of Uranus practically guarantees a tendency to be unsettled and easily thrown off balance. Don’t trust your intuition during this eclipse—your feelings may be way out of proportion and oddly intellectualized.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: September 12, 2015
Time of eclipse: 11:41 PM Pacific Time
Type: partial (weak in intensity)
Visible in: southern Africa, southern Madagascar, northern Antarctica and the southwestern Indian Ocean.
At: 20º Virgo
Shadow Agents:  Uranus in Aries

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 6 to 16
June 6 to 16
September 8 to 18
December 7 to 17

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door. You answer it. There stand the Sun and Moon in Virgo, a cleaning team loaded up with several buckets of soap and toothbrushes. They sweep into the room and unload their toolkits.
Moon (surveying the room): Oh this really is dreadful.
Sun: Yes, it’s worse than I thought.
You suddenly see the mess you’ve been living in through Virgo eyes: dishes piled up in the sink, paper piles a foot deep and so many clothes strewn about that you can’t even see the floor. Both the Luminaries heave a great sigh, then dig in. Several hours go by. . .
Sun: We are hardly making a dent here!
Moon (poking her kerchiefed head up from behind the sofa): I’ve found an amazing nest of dust bunnies! I need another toothbrush—this one is worn flat.
Sun: Good thing we brought a few dozen because I’ve used up several already. Look in the bucket. At least I’ve gotten deeper into the living room than you.
Moon: When do you think we’ll make it into the bathroom?
Sun: No idea. I’m dreading the kitchen.
You: Don’t you think a general approach would be better? It will take forever to handle all this if all you have is a toothbrush. Didn’t you bring a vacuum? Some rags? A broom?
Sun and Moon in unison: Of course not! Details, details, details!
Moon: Life is made up of them.
They continue scrubbing. Another several hours pass by.
Sun: Why isn’t this going faster? Hey Moon, don’t focus on making the bed—we need to organize the kitchen first!
Moon (moping): But how can I rest in an unmade bed? If the bed’s not tidy, with clean sheets, I can’t relax. Why do your needs always come first?
Sun: Not when I’m eclipsed, they don’t! I’m having NO effect here at all!
Suddenly the door bursts open and Uranus in Aries literally blows in, a disruptive, kinetic figure, bringing a high, hot wind with him. He’s a large fellow wearing a bright red cape that never stops moving.
Sun: Where the hell did he come from?
Moon: Did anyone hear him ring?
You: Not me.
Uranus, in attempting to orient himself and avoid the pockets of mess that have gathered here and there, knocks over several large paper piles and some furniture—only adding to the disorder. The Moon and Sun freeze in mid-motion, not knowing how to handle this alien figure.
Uranus: I see what you’re doing. Order, right? It’s a good thing, right? Streamline. Well, the way to do that is to eliminate.
Uranus (casually glances over the whole mess, and nonchalantly waves his hand): Let’s get rid of most of this junk.
You: It’s not junk!
Moon: Darned right it’s not junk! There are nostalgic items here!
You: And stuff that’s really important!
The Sun stands ready but has only a toothbrush to contribute. Uranus slaps it out of his hand. The Sun looks dazed.
Sun: How could we possibly—
Uranus sweeps into the kitchen and swiftly roots around in the cabinet underneath the sink. Returning in a blur of speed, he begins tossing things into the garbage bags he’s found.
Uranus: You don’t need most of this stuff.  (barking at the Moon and Sun) Get moving—NOW!
They scurry to obey, toothbrushes flying everywhere.
Uranus forces you through a quick triage, brooking no opposition.
Uranus: Need this? (tosses it) Want this? (tosses it) Why save this? (tosses it).
Soon he’s eliminated all the piles. There are six large garbage bags full of stuff, which the Moon and Sun lug to the curb. You don’t even want to look inside them. The Moon and Sun return to the living room, where they throw themselves on the sofa.
Moon: Wow! This feels SO much better!
Sun: Did we keep an accounting of what we tossed?
Uranus: Why do that?
Moon: I’m quite sure we’ve thrown away something important.
Uranus: Yes, probably. But things are clean. Isn’t that what matters?
Sun: I think it matters HOW it became clean.
Uranus. I don’t believe you. I’ve improved things. And now I’m off.
Uranus leaves in a whirlwind.
Moon: Who was that masked man?
Sun: I don’t know, but I hope I never see him again.

This Full Moon (also a Lunar Eclipse) suggests a feeling of persecution. “How unfair!” cries the Libran Moon, while Shadow Agents Pluto and Uranus pick on her. How will she learn to stand up for herself? Fortunately, Jupiter in Leo brings confidence and pride. During this Lunar Eclipse, learn to defend yourself and add teeth to your diplomacy.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: April 4, 2015
Time of eclipse: 5:05 AM Pacific Time
Type: total (strong in intensity)
Visible in: Asia, Western Australia, Oceania, North and South America and Antarctica
At: 14º Libra
Shadow Agents:  Pluto in Capricorn, Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Leo

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 30 – April 9
July 1 – 11
October 3 – 13
December 31 – January 10

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable. A lunar eclipse is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event (unlike a solar eclipse, which is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event). You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after). The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a strange sound outside, like a breeze growing into a wind, quickly growing into a monsoon. You head for the door when it is thrown open by the Moon in Libra, looking like a 1920’s starlet wearing a long gown. She throws herself at you and clings to you. The wind blows her skirt around and then suddenly dies down.
Moon: Save me! They’re after me!
You close the door and hold her. She’s shivering. Soon there’s a beating at the door. Through the peephole you can see Pluto in Capricorn, wearing a long, dark cloak and Uranus in Aries, carrying fiery thunderbolts in a satchel on his back. The thunderbolts give off an occasional sizzle that is audible even through the door.
You: You’re not coming in!
Pluto: What, not by the hair of your chinny-chin-chin?
He and Uranus snicker.
Uranus: I mean, really! That’s just plain silly.
Pluto: Clearly, I am to be the villain of the piece, so I’ll live up to the image.
He produces a flask from inside his cloak and drinks from it, then laughs in an evil way.
Pluto: Come out, Moon! I’ve got some flaws to detect in you this time! You’re not as pretty as you look, ya know!
Uranus: Yeah, and I’ve got an angry mob of protesters here who say justice is not as blind as she should be.
Pluto: Maybe we should take out one of her eyes?
The Moon gasps, looks at you and shivers more violently.
Pluto: Which story is this anyway? Am I supposed to tie you to the railroad track, so I can steal your inheritance? Am I supposed to rip your bodice, turn out to be a bad man with a heart of gold and fulfill your sexual fantasies? Am I supposed to put you out for the monster to eat? Am I the monster? Come on, Moon, give me a clue!
The Moon looks confused. Just then, you hear a rumble on the roof and see some soot drop down your fireplace. Suddenly, Jupiter appears at the opening and tugs his large self free of the fireplace, knocking over the andirons as he goes, but not upsetting his dignity.
Jupiter: I’m used to using fireplaces. After all, some see me as Santa Claus. He pats the Moon gently on the back.
Jupiter: Don’t you know Moon, that you are in charge here? Where’s your power? You’re not a victim of beauty, you wield it. Is it a weapon? is it a connector?
What’s the truth and what’s the pretty lies?
Moon: Those two really have me off balance. I can’t find my center with them around.
Jupiter: Rather than hiding and crying about the unfairness of the situation, why not claim your dignity and stand up for yourself? After all, fairness is a two-way street.
There’s a resounding toot from a horn and the door opens by itself. The Sun in Aries strides in, a larger-than-life warrior figure wearing full armor, with battle plumes on his helmet. Pluto and Uranus are still on the other side of the threshold, with a crowd behind them, brandishing pitchforks and axes and suchlike.
Sun: I sincerely hope everyone is remembering this is an ECLIPSE! Of the MOON! A time for us to look at our emotional shadow. And here and now, that shadow is niceness. False sweetness. Empty beauty. Passivity and excess yielding. And it is love without teeth that runs and hides at the first sign of trouble.
He looks very sternly at the Moon.
The Moon has started to look very pale and begins to go dark while the Sun brightens.
Sun: The powers of day assert themselves over the powers of night. Libra Moon, I am doing what you cannot–I am the Inner Warrior coming out to protect you.
He draws a sword and brandishes it at Pluto and Uranus. Uranus cheers while Pluto cowers, hiding under his cloak.
Pluto (resentfully): Like I said, why am I always being cast as the villain of the piece?
The Moon goes entirely dark and disappears. She is only gone for a few minutes before she begins to fade into shape again. When she takes her form again, she strides over to the Sun and takes his sword, then raises it above her head.
Moon: How could I have forgotten? I am JUSTICE! I am the Scales. Where there is unfairness, there am I with my sword.
She grabs a doily from a nearby tabletop and covers her eyes inexpertly with it.
Moon: I am Blind Justice, impartial and symmetrical! I am pure objectivity!
Uranus (aside to Jupiter): She’s something of a drama queen but she does speak sooth.

March’s New Moon is also an emotionally powerful lunar eclipse and it’s in the watery sign of Pisces. This is a Moon with many currents and many flavors, like a soup that’s not quite ready yet. A New Moon is a great time for beginnings but beginnings under this Moon are muddy indeed. Some of the things you begin this month may need time to cook or integrate or blend fully before they are ready for action. Instead of gobbling the soup before it’s ready, allow all the flavors to blend in the pot first—then taste it.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: March 20, 2015
Time of eclipse:
2:36 AM Pacific
Type: total (strong in intensity)
Visible in: Europe, Northern Africa, Middle East, North-West Asia, Iceland and Greenland
At: 29º Pisces
Shadow Agents: Ceres in Capricorn, Pallas Athena in Sagittarius

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
March 15-25
June 15-26
September 17-27
December 16-26

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door.  You answer it.  There stands Ceres in Capricorn, holding a giant cauldron. She brushes by you and into the kitchen, where she puts the cauldron on your stove. She is wearing a plain garment of a soft gray, and her every movement is pure efficiency. The cauldron is enormous and it covers three burners. She turns on the flame under it and uses a pitcher to add water from the sink. Then she begins pulling ingredients from the air, muttering to herself.

Ceres: Here’s some interesting karma. . . (she waves a grayish substance into the cauldron) . . .  and what about this experience? (she adds a yellow streaked with green) And here’s a twist. . . (a bluish-purple liquid pours into the cauldron from the air above it, causing bubbles and steam to rise). . . and a pinch of this! (the pinch is bright red and sparkly). You approach the cauldron, sniffing appreciatively.
You: Hey, this smells familiar! Is this the project I’m trying to create at work?
Ceres: Sure is! But it’s not ready yet. We have to let it cook awhile.
The front door bangs open and in runs Pallas Athena in Sagittarius, dressed in a bright orange jogging suit. She blows into the kitchen abruptly.
Pallas Athena: Hey guys, what’s cooking?
You: It appears to be a project I’m trying to get going at work.
Pallas Athena grabs the spoon.
Ceres, stopping her: Uh-uh-uh! Nope. Not ready yet.
Athena looks annoyed but holds back.
Athena: I’ve got a great sales plan for this project. I can sell it to your boss and your boss’ boss and your coworkers, and then I can sell it to the rest of the world too.
You: That sounds great!
Ceres: But not yet.
You: Maybe we can talk about it in the living room.
Ceres: Nope. We don’t know what it’s going to turn into. A leak would drain it of its power and change the recipe. Don’t even think about that sales stuff yet.
Athena looks irritated, but she pulls up a stool and sits on her hands.
Athena: Hey, what about this?
She pulls a thread of orange energy out of the air and offers it to Ceres who views it speculatively.
Ceres: That could work. Toss it in.
Athena does so while Ceres stirs. Together, the three of you watch the colors swirl and blend inside the cauldron, while steam brings a strange and intriguing mix of scents to your noses.
Ceres: Now off you go. Both of you. And no side conversations till it’s done. I mean it!
She shoves you out of the kitchen and Athena disappears in an orange cloud.
Three mornings later, you shuffle into the kitchen rubbing your eyes. Ceres is still there, stirring and humming to herself as the sun comes up and the birds begin to sing. She smiles at you and shakes her head.
Ceres: Not ready yet.
You fumble your way to the shower. Another few days later you wander into the kitchen again and there she is, stirring away. She dips the spoon into the cauldron and offers you a taste.
You: Wow, that’s fantastic! It really is!
Ceres shakes her head, amused.
Ceres: You really didn’t believe me, you silly human. Sometimes, you have to leave things in the hands of a deity. And you have to just walk away, trusting that the thing will sort itself out.
You: I will never forget it again.
Athena pops her head into the room for a moment and calls out: Neither will I!
Ceres: Oh yes you will, the very next time you’re in a fire sign again!

This is a highly sensitive yet also very relational New Moon and Solar Eclipse.  Watery types will prefer to stay home and process emotions with those they are intimate with—not a bad idea if you approach it with real vulnerability and the intent to clear, let go and move on. See and accept your partner for who they truly are, and present yourself as lovable, flaws and all. Use this eclipse for bonding and your relationship will transform into a more deep, true and real version of itself.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: October 23, 2014
Time of eclipse:
2:57 PM Pacific Time
Type: partial (weak in intensity)
Visible in: North America and eastern Asia
At: 0º Scorpio
Shadow Agents:  Venus in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
October 18-28
January 15-25
April 15-25
July 18-28

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door.  You answer it.  There stands Venus in Scorpio, a ravishing creature in a deep, wine-colored dress, holding hands with Neptune in Pisces, who is wearing a long cloak and a mask.  Venus sashays into your living room, tugging Neptune gently behind her.  They are absorbed in conversation and don’t even see you as they pass by.
Venus:  But don’t you understand—I don’t want that!
Neptune:  That’s what I don’t get.  Why wouldn’t anyone want that?
You decide to interrupt, as they are, after all, on your territory.
You:  Can I help you with something?
Neptune (to Venus):  All I want is to be what you want.  And I can.
Neptune’s mask melts in and reshapes itself.  The robe melds to his body and suddenly he is a virile, heroic-looking man with a chiseled face and a strong chin.  Venus can’t help but feel the tiniest bit melty, just looking at him, though she’s trying not to.
Venus:  But I don’t know who you really are!
Neptune (in a strong baritone):  Does it matter?  I know what you like.
Neptune reshapes himself and now looks like a lovely wood-nymph, with garlands of magnolia flowers in her hair and a faintly woodsy smell.  Venus melts a little bit more.  The two join hands and are just about to kiss when Venus shakes herself.
Venus:  Damn it, fooled again!  What if I just want you to be yourself?
Neptune (in a rich, throaty alto):  I don’t have a self.  And I don’t care about having one.
You:  Pardon me for interrupting, but if someone I was attracted to said that to me, I’d run for the hills.  That’s a dangerous relationship.
Neptune:  Sure it is, among humans.  But we are gods, we are larger-than-life archetypal principles.  I don’t go around telling Venus not to be sexy or to control her attractiveness—
Venus:  As if you could!  (and she bristles at the very idea.  And then, with some pride)  As if I could!
Neptune:  —and she shouldn’t tell me not to be amorphous.  Because it’s just the way I am.  And I don’t want to be any other way.  Here, look at this. . .
Neptune reaches up to her face and pulls away the mask, showing blankness underneath.
Neptune:  There really is nothing there.  I enjoy trying things on, because there’s nothing to me.  I am all things and I am nothing in particular.  It’s just my nature.  Can you accept this?
Venus:  I suppose I can, since you show me so clearly.
Neptune:  And what I really want is for you to desire something from me.  Then I can become it, I can try it on.  I want to do this many times, over and over again.  Then I come to understand all things, because I have lived and expressed them.  And that is you fulfilling my desire.
Venus (snuggling closer):  Oh, that makes me so happy!
You:  But how will the humans reading this benefit?  Because humans are not that way.  We have selves, we have identities.  We need to know who we are when we enter into relationship.
Venus:  That’s true.
Neptune:  True, indeed.  But there’s a little of each of us inside each of you.  And a little of each of you inside each of us.  How else can I try out the immense varieties of experience, so that I can come to have compassion for all life-forms?
Venus:  And humans get to be different from each other—how else can I awaken love in the human breast, if there is not enough difference to make the Beloved fascinating?  So we are glad that you humans are not pure types of us.  I mean, I may be fantastic, but does the Universe really need another Venus?  (She flips her hair casually.)
Neptune:  Of course not, my dear.  It would be simply too much.
Just then, the door opens and the Sun walks in, wearing a long, flowing robe in deep shades of rust.
Sun:  I couldn’t help overhearing, but I was busy being eclipsed.  I got here as fast as I could.  Do I hear a crisis of personality going on here?
You:  On the part of the whole human race.  If we listen to Neptune, we’ll merge and blend and lose ourselves entirely.  If we listen to Venus, we’ll fall in love with love.  And if we listen to the both of them together, we’ll have codependent relationships and live in a real mess.  Been there, done that.
Neptune:  I suppose the problem is that in water signs, we agree far too much.
Sun:  Allow me to add that one must always come back to oneself.  Forays into the realm of intimate relating are delightful and soul-deepening, but without a self to return to, how can relating even happen?
Neptune:  And without self, how can there be the wonderful loss-of-self that happens in religious experience—
Venus:  —or in love?
Sun:  Exactly.  Merging is to happen for a time only, and Venus is here to show you how.  Surrender and loss-of-self is also to happen for a time only, and Neptune is here to show you how.  This eclipse is an excellent time to practice.  But remember that the Sun, even though periodically eclipsed, will always come out again.
Neptune (rising and sending a conspiratorial look at Venus, who blushes):  That said, I think it’s time we. . .
Venus (also rising and taking his hand):  I completely agree.
Neptune passes through several shapes as they head through the door, each one making Venus blush afresh.  The Sun beams at them both, then gives you a wink and takes his leave.

This Full Moon (also a Lunar Eclipse) is loaded with vitality and sheer fun. Uranus, Mars and Jupiter team up to form a Grand Trine in Fire signs. During this Moon, Fiery people may be feeling quite full of themselves, not very open to feedback and apt to argue with those who would burst their bubble—try not to be one of those insufferable people. Instead, spread enthusiasm and good intentions far and wide, while remaining considerate of others’ experience of you.

Details About This Eclipse

Time of eclipse:
3:51 AM Pacific Time
Type: total (strong in intensity)
Visible in: Most of Asia, Australia, Oceania, North and South America and Greenland.
At: 15º Aries
Shadow Agents:  Uranus in Aries, Mars in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Leo

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
October 3-13
January 1-10
March 31-April 10
July 2-12

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A lunar eclipse is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event (unlike a solar eclipse, which is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door.  You answer it.  There stands the Moon in Aries, with Uranus in Aries right behind him. Mars in Sagittarius is also crowding in the door, pushing past Jupiter in Leo to get by. The whole crew may be only four deities, but it has the energy of a large crowd. The Sun in Libra is in the background, attempting to shush them, but no one is listening to her.
Moon: Bring the keg! It’s time to paaaarrrr-TAY!
Uranus rolls the keg in and sets it up in a corner. It’s the biggest keg you’ve ever seen.
You: What’s in there?
Uranus: Ambrosia of course! Nectar of the gods! You’d better not have any—it’s strong stuff. It intoxicates us, so it would kill you.
You: Gee, thanks for bringing something I can’t have.
Uranus (oblivious): You’re welcome.
Mars (to Jupiter): General Bash-Em, reporting for our meeting.
Jupiter: We haven’t set up the War Room yet. (aside, to Uranus) I don’t have the heart to tell him this is a party, not a battle. (to Mars again) Where is your encampment?
Mars: My men have made camp outside. We have discovered that there are many pleasant grassy areas around here where we can pitch tents. The mess tent is right over there. (points)
You look out the window in the direction he’s pointing and see that he’s set up a large tent right over your herb garden and that your lawn is covered with small tents and soldiers in various states of battle array. The army extends as far as you can see, covering all your neighbors’ lawns too.
Jupiter: Well, invite them in!
You: Oh boy, this is going to really piss my neighbors off. I need all of you out of here—and your soldiers too!
But they ignore you and continue setting up party decorations. The Sun in Libra steps delicately around them and walks up to you. She is wearing a beautiful (and obviously very expensive) designer outfit with a gorgeous hat to complete the ensemble. Her hair is in a tasteful and classic French knot.
Sun: You don’t have to put up with this, you know.
You: I don’t want to put up with this, but what can I do about it? They’re gods and I’m just a puny little human.
Sun: This is an eclipse, remember? The Moon is about to go dark. He could get emotional, and very loud, but you don’t have to put up with this crap.
It strikes you as funny that a deity as well-appointed as the Sun is today should use the indelicate word “crap” but you put that aside and listen. The Sun reaches up and pulls a giant hatpin out of her hat, with a large pearl on the end.
Sun: Watch this.
Meanwhile, the festivities have begun and the Moon is at the center of things, zooming around like a comet, filling glasses, laughing and generally living it up. Jupiter is in the middle of a cosmic joke and Uranus is trying to make a spark come out of the electrical wall-socket. About 30 soldiers are spread around your living room, spilling beer everywhere and completely unconcerned. You could swear that Jupiter, Uranus, Mars and the Moon have literally expanded since they walked into the house. You can hardly believe they still fit in the room, they’re so large. The Sun somehow cuts directly through the fray and pokes the giant Moon with her hatpin. The Moon’s mouth forms an “O” of surprise, then the wailing begins.
Moon (louder than you ever thought possible): I NEEEEver get to have my own way!! I just wanted to have a paaaarrrrrty! I don’t want to go home! I’m having fun! Go away! This is MY party! I’ll cry if I WANT TO!!
Then the Moon simply. . .  deflates. Like a balloon, he shrivels up and become a little flat moon-shape on the floor.
Jupiter (deeply disappointed) You broke him!
Sun: Actually, I didn’t. He’s in a Fire sign. He’ll be fine.
You: Thank god the drama is over.
Sun: I’m the god you can thank for that.
She steps over the Moon, who is already starting to re-inflate, probably because Uranus and Mars have pulled out a pump and are pumping him up with hot air.
Uranus: You can do it!
Mars: Up and at ‘em, soldier!
Jupiter: Think of your pride, man!
Moon: Oh, I’m starting to feel ok. I think I’ll be all right. After all, tomorrow is another day!
All of them together burst into song.
Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Mars: The sun’ll come out. . . tomorrow! Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow. . . there’ll be sun. Just thinkin’ about. . . tomorrow. . . clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow. . . till there’s none!
The Sun is leaving, but on her way out the door, she hands you the hatpin.
Sun: I think you’re going to need this. Cheers!
Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Mars: Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you’re only a daaaaay aaaaah-waaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!
They all take a bow and slap each other on the back in congratulations. You sigh. It’s going to be a long night.

If you’re ready for a change of mind, this Solar Eclipse (which is also a New Moon in Taurus) will definitely bring it.  Oddly, it might be gentler than you expect.  No need for armor—just allow your mind to become supple and let go of stubbornness.  Letting loose the old, stuck ideas that just don’t work anymore is the way to go, and you can watch yourself change as if by magic.

Details About This Eclipse

Date: April 28, 2014
Time of eclipse: 11:14 PM PDT
Type: annular (weak in intensity)

Visible in: Australia
At: 8 degrees Taurus
Shadow Agents: Mercury in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
April 23-May 4
July 26-August 6
October 27-November 6
January 23-February 2

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A solar eclipse is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event (unlike a lunar eclipse, which is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door.  You answer it.  On the threshold stands Mercury, with the usual wings on his cap and shoes.  He nods at you and walks in.  He roots around in the refrigerator, piles up snacks on a tray and makes himself comfortable on the sofa, where he zones out in front of the TV.  There’s another knock at the door.  You open it to find Pluto, who is conspicuously sniffing.  He walks into your living room and begins picking things up and looking underneath them—first the sofa cushions, then knickknacks, then pieces of furniture.
You:  What are you looking for?
Pluto:  There’s a funny smell in here.  I could swear something is rotting.
He moves slowly and methodically around the room, finally approaching the sofa where Mercury lounges.
Pluto (to Mercury):  Oh, it’s you! I should have known. You’re stagnating, you know. Beginning to smell.
Mercury continues gazing mindlessly at the TV, ignoring Pluto and relaxing more deeply.  Pluto stands behind the sofa.
Pluto:  Don’t you know that too much TV rots your brain?  Cap off, please!
Without really thinking about it, Mercury removes his cap.  You can see that the top of his head is covered in some sort of crusty material, like mushrooms, lichen or part of a coral reef.
Pluto:  Hmm, your mind has become quite encrusted with old, tired and boring ideas.
Mercury:  They work for me.
Pluto:  They probably do.  But they’ve become outdated.  You’re stuck in the past.  I’m going to have to remove some of this junk.
You:  Um, disgusting metaphor, guys!
Pluto:  Thank you!
Mercury:  Try not to take it so literally.
Pluto takes a tiny chisel out of his pocket and begins gently chipping away at the strange material encrusted on Mercury’s mind.
Mercury:  That tickles!  I just realized I’ve been thinking too concretely, too literally.
Pluto:  Ah, it’s working!
He proceeds, more vigorously.
Mercury:  Wow, that actually feels kind of good.  Hey, I’m beginning to be able to think more flexibly!
Pluto finishes up with a scalp scrub and massage.  Mercury purrs with enjoyment.
Mercury:  I just had my first new idea in years!  I’ve been viewing ideas as fixed objects, not the flexible, fluid and mobile things they really are.
He sits up, more alert, with a sparkle in his eye.  He turns off the TV and tosses the remote in a corner.  The snacks roll off his lap, leaving a mess of crumbs and wrappers on the floor.
Mercury:  What did I want those for?
Pluto:  Ready for adventures?
Mercury:  Sure?  Where are we going?
Pluto:  To the bottom of things.
He pulls out a Sherlock-Holmes style deerstalker cap for himself and one for Mercury.  They both don them and wink at each other.  And off they go, leaving you to clean up your living room.

All four of the asteroid goddesses lend a hand during this Libran Full Moon, which also happens to be an eclipse.  Here’s the dilemma—should you listen to domestic goddesses Ceres and Vesta, who think this eclipse is about beautifying home and feathering the nest, or to fierce and feisty Juno and Pallas Athene, who are ready to start an argument and grab control?  Who’s steering this ship anyway?  Maybe we should all just hide our heads in the sand until it passes.

Does It Affect You Personally?

If your birthday is on any of the following dates, you’re most likely to experience this eclipse:
April 10-19
July 12-22
October 13-22
January 10-19

Remember, not every eclipse touches everyone, but when it does, it’s usually noticeable.  A lunar eclipse is likely to bring up strong emotions and to be experienced as a subjective event (unlike a solar eclipse, which is likely to be marked by an external, real-world event).  You may notice events happening anytime within the week surrounding the eclipse (up to a few days before or after).  The following script is just one possible way it could go.

You hear a knock at the door.  You answer it.  There stands the Sun in Aries, dressed in orange, yellow and red tones and wearing a large golden crown with rays emanating from it.  She sweeps commandingly across your threshold, followed by her entourage: Juno in Aries and Pallas Athene in Leo, both wearing tiaras and arrayed in similarly fiery colors.  Behind them come a team of decorators loaded up with bolts of fabric, measuring tapes and all manner of tools.  They swarm the house and soon are busy measuring, cutting, sewing and hanging.  Soon you are pressed against the wall, but you can hear what the goddesses are saying, because they are all very loud.
Sun (to her entourage):  What do you think of that wallpaper?  (points to a strip of wallpaper with wagon wheels, paisleys and fleur-de-lis in a raised red velvet pattern)
Juno:  Fahhhhh-bulous.  It could be brighter though.
Pallas Athene:  We really need to lean into the cowgirl aspect of this theme.
Sun:  I couldn’t agree more.  Maybe install a stable and a bunch of horses?
Juno:  That would make a good start.  Some walls are going to have to come down.
Pallas Athene:  Naturally.  And what about the bidet?
Sun:  Washlet, my dear—what century are you in anyway?
The Moon steps delicately into the doorway, peering around her at all the mayhem.  She’s tastefully dressed in pastels and pearls, with neatly understated shoes and hair.   Behind her are Vesta and Ceres, her own entourage.  Together, they are the very picture of good design and composition.
As for yourself, you’ve been backed into a corner behind the door, afraid to be hit by a falling hammer or perhaps sparks from that welder over there.
Moon:  1. . .  2. . . 3. . . 4. . . 5. . .
You:  What are you doing?
Moon:  I’m angry, but I’m counting to 10 first.
Vesta:  How are we supposed to make sacred space here?
Moon:  My thoughts exactly.
Ceres:  This won’t be cozy at all.
Moon  (raising her voice a bit):  You’ve really got to stop!
(The banging is so loud that the fire goddesses have covered their ears)
Sun  (to Juno):  Did you say something, dear?
Pallas Athene  (noticing the air goddesses):  Why don’t you just step over here and let the workers do their work?
She corrals them with her sword.  The Moon uses a white-gloved hand to carefully lift the sword out of the way, and steps into the center of the room.
Moon (tapping Sun on the shoulder):  Excuse me, but what exactly do you think you are doing here?
Sun:  Oh, it’s you!  What’s it look like?  We’re decorating!  We knew you were going to be incapacitated during your eclipse—
Vesta  (whispers to Ceres):  How rude of her to mention the eclipse!  Would we air her dirty laundry in public that way?
Ceres:  Of course not.  We are sensible people.  And then to actually take advantage of the Moon’s weakness at this time by running on ahead and taking over the project without so much as a “by your leave!”
Vesta:  I can’t believe it.
Sun  (oblivious):  —so we thought we’d do it for you.
Moon:  These colors are awful!
Ceres:  Too brassy!  Not soothing at all.
Vesta:  You’ve got no color sense.  Nobody wants to live in a McDonald’s!
Moon:  You really shouldn’t have acted without getting a second opinion first, Sun.  And the home is my domain after all.  How could you?
Sun:  Uh oh, now I’ve really done it.  Here comes the meltdown.
The Moon begins weeping, then sobbing, then full-out wailing, then she begins to dissolve into angry, yelling tears.  The Sun, Pallas Athene and Juno try desperately to scoop her back together.
Pallas Athene:  It’s all right, Moon!
Juno:  We’ll stop—we promise!
Moon:  Get out!  Get ooooouuuuuut!  Now!
Suddenly the room is silent.  The workers all pause, and glance at the Sun.  She makes a single, imperious nod, puts her nose in the air, and stalks out without a word.  Juno and Pallas Athene follow her, along with every worker.
Vesta:  And take your hideous decorations with you!
They do.
After the door is closed behind them, the puddle on the floor that is the Moon reforms itself into the gracious lady who walked in.
Moon:  Now, where were we?  Ah yes—pastels!
Vesta and Ceres huddle around her to hear her ideas and you sense you are in for a long night.
